CIRCLE: Glusburn Primary School’s UNICEF group, with community cohesion co-ordinator, Lynn Ashton, celebrate gaining international recognition from the United Nations body
Glusburn Community Primary School has gained international recognition.
The school has been accredited with the Rights Respecting School Award Level 2 by United Nations body UNICEF.
Glusburn had earlier become the first school in North Yorkshire to achieve ;evel one, and became the second to reach level two.
UNICEF assessors Mick Bradley and Beverly Noble have praised the school .
The pair said: “It was clear to the assessors during the visit that everyone places a real importance on developing and embedding a rights-respecting ethos.”
Head teacher Richard Hunt paid tribute to Lynn Ashton, community cohesion co-ordinator, for her work.
