A 57-year-old man, who was involved in the “slick, professional” supply of class A drugs on the streets of Bradford, was jailed for four years.
The Recorder of Bradford, Judge Roger Thomas QC, told Arshad Mahmood he had played a significant role in supplying heroin and crack cocaine – on two occasions near to Bradford schools.
Mahmood yesterday pleaded guilty at Bradford Crown Court to 12 charges of supplying class A drugs, involving eight transactions during a three-week period in June and July this year.
Prosecutor Richard Davies told how Mahmood was involved with others in selling drugs from cars to undercover police officers taking part in Operation Stalebank. On all but one occasion, he was the driver of three cars used for the dealing.
Mahmood was given a further six months imprisonment for breaching a suspended sentence imposed for possessing cannabis with intent to supply.
