Stephen Holbrook
The Great Victoria Hotel, Bradford
Stephen Holbrook is nothing if not entertaining.
“I’m good aren’t I?” he asks his audience on more than occasion.
The evening is billed as an evening of clairvoyance with one of the UK’s leading spiritualist mediums.
It is actually part mediumship and part stand-up comedy as Holbrook conveys messages from the spirit world to an expectant audience.
Or at least that is what he tells a gathering of around 150 largely middle-aged to elderly women he is doing.
The main problem is that a lot of messages are simply too light-hearted; not only comical but too far-fetched to be taken seriously.
This tends to be Holbrook’s way but it is good entertainment nonetheless.
After concentrating on delivering messages to a couple of groups at the front of the room for much of the evening, he seems happy that he has hit the mark.
Most of the audience seem content with what they have paid £16 for too.
All in all, a good night out.
