A violent Bradford robber, who escaped from an open prison for the second time in a year, has been recaptured in his home city.
Lee Naylor, 35, who was locked up indefinitely for the public’s protection in 2008, fled HMP Sudbury in Derbyshire, on Friday, November 22 – only 12 months after he was recaptured when he absconded from the same open jail.
On that occasion, Naylor, of Little Horton, Bradford, was recaptured by West Yorkshire Police and returned to custody.
This time, he was again caught by West Yorkshire officers, in Bradford, on Saturday morning, after being on the run for more than a week.
Derbyshire Police put out an alert last Tuesday – four days after Naylor went missing.
A spokesman said officers would liaise with West Yorkshire Police to look at the addresses of any family and friends in the district.
Yesterday a police spokesman confirmed Naylor had been arrested in Bradford at 10.30am on Saturday.
He has been charged with absconding or escaping from lawful custody, and has been returned to prison.
