Emma-Jayne Waters is the third woman in her family to dress as a man and head east in search of treasure!
As young adventurer Aladdin, she has taken on the same pantomime role her mother, Alison Waters, twice played. And Emma-Jayne’s grandma, Doreen Smith, has also played a heroic young man from the East with the theatre group – Sinbad.
Emma-Jayne will continue the family tradition next week when she plays the title role in this year’s Sutton’s Green Hut Theatre Company panto.
Like her mother and grandmother, she first trod the boards with the group – until this year known as Sutton Amateurs – as a child.
Aladdin is staged at Sutton Village Hall from next Wednesday to Saturday at 7.15pm, and on the Saturday at 2.15pm.
Tickets are available from Londis Stores in Main Street, Sutton, or by calling (01535) 632289.
