The search is on for a new town crier to take on the role in Ilkley from 2014.
Chris Richards, who has been town crier for 12 years, is retiring at the end of this year, and Ilkley Parish Council is looking for someone to step up and take his place.
Anyone who thinks they are up to the task of proclaiming the town’s news at events and special occasions is asked to get in touch with the parish clerk on (01943) 436212 by December 31.
