Young people supported by Barnardo’s have been getting work experience in Bradford hospitals.
The group, aged between 14 and 21, helped by Barnardo’s Queens Road services, joined nurses, doctors and senior managers at Bradford Royal Infirmary and St Luke’s.
They experienced working on the wards and in the radiology, psychology and women’s and children’s services departments.
The initiative was led by Bradford Safeguarding Children’s Board who got 47 young people across the city involved with a number organisations as part of the scheme.
Dave Benn, manager of Barnardo’s Queens Road service, said: “Not only did the young people get a chance to build their confidence but the organisations taking part benefit from a young person’s perspective when they challenge how services work.”
