Improvements made to Steeton cricket club’s pavilion and meeting room will be revealed at its Christmas pantomime.
The club is able to host the pantomime thanks to a £7,200 project which has seen internal works carried out to its pavilion on Summerhill Lane.
Funding came from the club and The Veolia Environmental Trust, which awarded a grant of £5,000 through the Landfill Communities Fund.
When planning the work, the cricket club ran a focus group and drop-in sessions with pavilion users and residents of the community, which identified the need for the improvements.
The changes will allow more people to use the facility, including those with disabilities or limited mobility. Steeton Cricket Club committee member Jonathan Best said: “We are delighted to be hosting the Christmas pantomime now that the facility is accessible to the whole community.”
