A Bradford man serving his third prison sentence for robbery has absconded from an open prison in Derbyshire.
Police today said that Lee Naylor, 35, failed to return to HMP Sudbury last Friday.
He was given an indeterminate sentence at Bradford Crown Court for robbery in May 2008 after snatching handbags from vulnerable and elderly women in Clayton, Wibsey, Shipley and Otley.
He had previously been jailed for similar offences in both 1998 and 2003.
Derbyshire Police says Naylor’s last known address was in Little Horton.
He is described as white, 5ft 11ins tall, of medium build, with short brown hair and blue eyes.
Anyone who sees him, or has information about his whereabouts is asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
A second man, Michael Sayers, 32, of Leeds, also absconded from the same prison on Friday. Police say they are treating the two incidents separately.
