Royal Mail says it delivered a target-beating performance in the BD postcode area between April and September this year, with 93.3 per cent of First Class Mail arriving the day after posting.
Its Second Class mail target was also exceeded, with 98.8 per cent delivered within three working days, against a target of 98.5 per cent.
The performance was delivered as Royal Mail continues a modernisation programme.
It says new technology and equipment is being deployed nationwide and the working practices of postmen and women are changing to optimise the network for the increasing volume of parcels and declining volume of letters posted.
