A Bradford care home has been warned that it must make improvements after an unannounced visit from inspectors.
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has issued a formal warning to Ashville Care Limited after an inspection carried out at Ashville Care Home, in Sandmoor Garth, Idle, Bradford.
The CQC found that the service was failing to meet standards when it came to the management of medicines.
The home, which provides accommodation and personal care for 29 older people and people with dementia, must now improve by a set deadline.
The report, published this month in relation to a visit carried out on October 1, said: “At our previous visit in April 2013 we found that people were not protected against the risks associated with medicines because the provider did not have appropriate arrangements in place to manage medicines safely.
“This included the arrangements for administering, recording and storing medicines. Following this visit the provider sent us an action plan detailing how they were going to bring about improvement in medicines handling at the home.”
