A scheme that saw police patrolling on off-road bikes to tackle anti-social vehicle use in Bradford has been so successful it is being extended.
The partnership that saw Bradford Council loan two bikes to the Tong and Wyke Neighbourhood Policing Team for six months led to 28 motorcycles and quad bikes being seized and 12 people issued warnings for riding in an anti-social manner. It will now run for at least another six months.
Inspector Andy Addy, who leads the NPT, said: “The bikes proved to be a very worthy addition to the team, helping us to deal with incidents where these machines were being ridden illegally or without regard for members of the public.”
