A mother and daughter from Bradford are hosting a Strictly Come Dancing event to raise money for a local charity cheerleading squad.
Shelley and Lizzie Wilkinson are hoping the night will help get The Jewels, a group made up of people with learning disabilities, off to Paris to compete in the Future Cheer 2014 championships at Euro Disney in March.
The charity night is on Saturday, November 30, at 6.45pm in All Souls Church Hall, Hayley Hill, Boothtown, Halifax.
The Jewels, who get support from charity HFT, train every Tuesday at Panache Cheer studios in Bradford.
Nicki Brooksbank, regional fundraiser for HFT, said: “It really would be a dream come true if we could get The Jewels to Paris next year. We need to raise £20,000 in total, including transport, accommodation, uniforms, medical care and one-to-one support for each performer.”
