Farmers across the Worth Valley are opening up their land to help cater for the thousands of visitors who will descend on the area next summer for the Tour de France.
And they have teamed up with Sue Ryder, which runs Manorlands hospice at Oxenhope and two other care centres in Yorkshire, to raise funds for the charity.
Sue Ryder’s regional fundraiser Andrew Wood – a farmer’s son and former chairman of the Yorkshire Federation of Young Farmers Clubs – is spearheading the project.
The Grand Depart will pass through Silsden, Keighley and the Worth Valley on July 6.
Visit sueryder.org/le camping for more details of the sites involved in the scheme.
Landowners interested in taking part should e-mail Andrew.wood@sueryder.org.
