The death of a man in a supermarket car park has sparked an urgent appeal to buy life-saving equipment.
Brian Firth, a community first responder with Yorkshire Ambulance Service, had gone off-duty just half an hour before the death of the man at Morrisons in Guiseley on November 2.
Now he wants to help save lives by ensuring defibrillators are available in shopping centres across Aireborough, Horsforth and Otley, as well as Ilkley.
Brian, who set up the Global First Aid Society earlier this year to help others learn life-saving skills, is starting a fund to raise money for automated external defibrillators in Guiseley, Yeadon, Otley, Horsforth and Ilkley.
He is appealing to communities and businessfor support.

A spokesman for Morrisons said four of the store’s first aiders tried to help the man but he could not be resuscitated.
