The start of the festive season will have a new look this year in Addingham, with a market and a torchlight procession around the switch-on of the Christmas lights.
The village lights will officially be switched on next Saturday, November 30, and this year a bigger celebration is planned.
Village organisations are encouraging residents to walk to the lights ceremony at Sugar Hill carrying burning wax torches – or glow sticks for youngsters.
Village churches, the parish council and Civic Society suggest groups gather at churches, chapels, schools, clubs and pubs, to arrive at Sugar Hill for the lights switch-on by 4.25pm.
Residents are also encouraged to light up the village by placing tealights on their window sills from 4pm.
The Totally Locally Addingham group is organising a Christmas market at The Swan car park from 3.30pm until early evening.
