An award was presented to a Bradford-based African-Caribbean organisation for a fundraising effort in aid of prostate cancer.
Checkpoint raised £1,770 and received a certificate of achievement at an event held to raise awareness.
The Checkpoint committee thanked Tangles hairdressers in Bradford, Raymond Town Menswear in Saltaire, Yorkshire Building Society and Barclays Bank for their donations.
A spokesman said: “We would like to thank all who came and supported the event.”
The event at the Park Lane Community Centre in Little Horton was held to help promote awareness of prostate cancer among black men.
George Deane, of the Black Health Forum, said: “There is a high instance of black men getting prostate cancer and they do not go to the doctor until it is too late.
“This event was about strengthening and raising awareness and also looking at GPs’ surgeries and how they can help.”
