A final countdown has begun to Keighley’s Christmas lights switch-on.
The glittering extravaganza on Sunday has great entertainment lined up.
And few in the crowds expected to converge on the town centre will be more excited than 17-year-old Erin Morrow.
She has won a competition to meet X Factor star Amelia Lily, who will perform before helping to switch on the lights.
“I watched her in the X Factor and am a big fan,” said Erin, a health and social care student at Keighley Campus Leeds City College.
“I was quite shocked but delighted when I learned that I’d won. I’m really looking forward to Sunday.”
Singing sensation Amelia finished third in the top ITV talent show two years ago, and has since had several hit singles.
Attractions are taking place across the town centre on Sunday – in the Airedale Shopping Centre, on Church Green and at the Royal Arcade – from about 11am, and many shops will be opening specially.
The line-up will include teenage singer-songwriter Declan Vink, winner of the shopping centre’s own talent contest – Airedale Unsigned – staged in the summer.
Pre-Christmas late-night shopping will start in the town on November 28.
