Notorious pantomime baddie Phil Marston and his daughter Caroline are gearing up for starring roles in this year’s Burley Theatre Group production of Little Red Riding Hood.
Phil, who began his acting career in 1969, is excited to rise to the challenge of playing a new villain: the wolf, while Caroline takes the role of Jill.
The pair have appeared together in over 15 productions, and have become local celebrities for roles including The Sheriff of Nottingham and Maid Marian in the Otley Little Theatre’s performance of Babes in the Wood.
Their impressive acting careers have not gone unnoticed in the theatrical community; Phil took home the award for best pantomime villain at the 2008 Wharfedale Drama Festival and Caroline won best comedy support in 2012.
Such charismatic and talented leads seem certain to make Little Red Riding Hood a hit for local theatre this winter.
Little Red Riding Hood runs from December 4 to 7 at the Queen’s Hall, Burley-in-Wharfedale. Call (01943) 863478 or e-mail burleytheatre@gmail.com for tickets.
