The success of a campaign in the Worth Valley near Keighley to curb dog fouling means the scheme is to be extended to Craven ward.
District councillors have provided cash to buy signs urging people to clean up after their pets while out walking in locations such as Silsden, Steeton, Eastburn and Addingham.
Ward councillors Andrew Mallinson and Michael Kelly have allocated the necessary cash from their ward action plan budget.
The eye-catching new signs will be placed on bus stops and walls in areas that are particularly prone to dog fouling.
They will be periodically moved in order to ensure they are always sited where the problem is at its worst.
Coun Mallinson said: “This continues on from our earlier ‘bag-it, tie it, bin it’ campaign which we ran a couple of years ago. That went extremely well and local school pupils got involved with raising awareness.
“This is a nasty, disgusting and unfortunate habit that some people with dogs have got into when they’re taking their animals out for a walk.
“In Silsden dog fouling tends to affect the park area, the canal towpath and a lot of the back streets in residential areas.
"In Steeton and Eastburn it tends to happen on the main recreation field.”
