An Otley shopkeeper who feared parking changes would ruin her business is celebrating a victory for ‘people power’.
Sandra Threlfall warned last month plans to allow coaches to park for 24 hours on bays on Boroughgate, including one right outside her Chevin Health Store, could be disastrous for trade.
A petition opposing the move attracted 180 signatures in just two weeks.
Ward councillors also took up the issue with Leeds City Council, which has now agreed to leave coach parking in the bay in question restricted, as it is now, to 20 minutes.
