A landmark village pub is to re-open this weekend following a £100,000 investment by the leaseholder and a leading national pub chain.
The Red Lion, on Main Street, Burley-in-Wharfedale, will reopen on Saturday following an 11 day closure while work took place.
The work has been jointly funded by leaseholder Neil PIckles and Punch Taverns.
The pub has been completely redecorated with new furniture, lighting and flooring, the toilets have also been refurbished. The external signage has been updated and an extended beer patio has been created to allow a larger external drinking space. Mr Pickles, director of Pickles Business Management which operate six sites across Yorkshire, said: “This is my third Punch pub and I could always see the Red Lion’s potential and shared Punch’s vision to bring it back to the community as a family-friendly pub.”
