Keighley Area Committee is expected to approve changes to a Silsden zebra crossing despite opposition at a meeting tomorrow.
Highways officers are urging the Bradford Council committee to overrule a series of safety concerns.
The Council plans to build a plateau on busy Kirkgate to raise the crossing above the normal road level.
The work ties in with refurbishments to the adjacent Silsden Town Hall, including the installation of an access ramp on the pavement.
Two unnamed people have objected to the zebra crossing plan.
