Children at a Bradford primary school were yesterday getting lessons from a boxer in how to beat the bully.
West Yorkshire-born Fes Batista, 23, told the youngsters how he turned his life around through boxing after enduring verbal racist taunts.
Mr Batista, who has been training alongside the world’s top boxer, Floyd Mayweather, in Las Vegas, joined pupils at Russell Hall Primary School in Queensbury, to help out during national Anti-Bullying Week.
The visit was arranged through a parent at the school, a friend of Mr Batista, who is scheduled to have his first professional fight in Phoenix, Arizona, in February. He was speaking to three classes at the school, which has 250 pupils.
Mr Batista said: “Dealing with bullying is crucial. I wanted to do my bit to help, because I have experienced it.”
