A new cricket club for people with a visual impairment is proving a big hit in Bradford.
Led by Yorkshire Cricket Board coaches and also including two assistant coaches who have a visual impairment, the club has started thanks to West Yorkshire Sports Creating Connections.
Its aim is to provide more opportunities for people with a disability, and also to engage with health professionals and disabled people’s organisations so they are aware of what is available in the community.
Bradford’s Creating Connections officer, Andrew Lane, who is based at Bradford Disability Sport and Leisure, said: “This project has seen five new clubs set up in Bradford. It is a fantastic opportunity for anyone with a disability to try a new sport. The clubs are fun and all levels of ability can attend.”
