Three men have been interviewed under caution as part of a West Yorkshire Police probe into a number of matters relating to Kings Science Academy free school in Bradford, officers have revealed.
They were quizzed about allegations of suspected fraud by false representation at the school in Lidget Green after being invited to attend Trafalgar House Police Station, Bradford, on Friday.
They were identified as a result of inquiries conducted by detectives in the West Yorkshire Economic Crime Unit, which included speaking to senior managers at The Department for Education, KIFSA Trust, Education Funding Agency and Kings Science Academy.
The investigation is being led by Detective Superintendent Lisa Griffin, who is head of crime for the Bradford District.
She said: “I will be considering all the information and potential evidence gleaned so far and over the coming weeks to ensure that the investigation is both thorough and swift.”
The school is at the centre of a damning report by DfE auditors who found a series of major failings in the school's financial controls.
