A former Chinese restaurant and fire station in Queensbury could be transformed into a takeaway, two shops and an apartment complex.
Plans have been submitted by Matthew Wai for the transformation of the Royal Eastern restaurant on Brighouse Road, next to Tesco.
Apart from a take away, which will remain as part of the re-development, the building has been empty for several years.
Although no retailers have been specified for the two shops, Mr Wai predicts the scheme would create around eight full time and four part time jobs.
The two floors above the restaurant will be turned into 12 apartments, four one bedroom and eight two bedroom. The building’s current Chinese elements would be removed as part of the development and replaced with “a more modern theme” including glass balconys.
Bradford Council will decide on whether to approve the application early next year.
