Staff at a Bradford primary school say they are “delighted” after a glowing review of the school.
Following a recent visit, Ofsted described St Matthew’s school on Mayo Avenue as “good” and praised the “sharp improvement in pupils' achievement.”
The inspection team found that the overall effectiveness, achievement of pupils, quality of teaching, behaviour and safety of pupils and leadership and management were all good.
The last Ofsted report, in November, 2010, also judged the school to be good. Head teacher Bob Curran is praised for: “taking decisive steps to improve teaching, particularly in mathematics. As a result the quality of teaching and learning is consistently good and pupils are now making good progress across the school.”
Mr Curran said: “We are delighted with this glowing report as it reflects how we see the school and gives us some pointers for further improvement. This is a whole school achievement and everyone involved deserves to be thanked for their efforts.”
