Police are appealing for information after a 71-year-old man was seriously injured in a collision on the A59 near Skipton.
The accident happened just before 9am on Thursday at the junction with Heslaker Lane. It involved a blue Ford Escort travelling east, waiting to turn right on to Heslaker Lane. A red Toyota Starlet was stationary behind it and a black Audi heading in the opposite direction. The injured man, from the Thornton-Cleveleys area of Lancashire, who was driving the Toyota, suffered serious injuries.
He was taken to Airedale hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
Traffic Constable Martin Usher said: “If you witnessed the collision or saw any of the vehicles prior to the incident I ask you to contact the police straight away.” Anyone who can help is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2 and ask for Martin Usher.
