Manorlands is to receive a cash boost following a charity fundraising campaign at a Cross Hills school.
The Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice is one of three causes which will share the £3,049 collected by South Craven School.
The money was raised through the annual “Head’s Challenge”, when head teacher Dr Andrew Cummings gives £10 to each year 12 and 13 tutor group and challenges them to increase the amount within a fortnight.
A range of activities was held, including jewellery and bun sales, tombolas, raffles and an auction of promises.
There was also a bush tucker trial, in which eight members of staff were given a variety of concoctions to eat and drink.
“Students from years seven and eight paid 50p each to see the spectacle and were not disappointed!” said a school spokesman.
