Bradford University hosted a medicine workshop in China.
It brought together Chinese companies and scientists with European researchers and entrepreneurs in an effort to ensure that medicines perform better in patients suffering from cardiovascular and metabolic diseases and cancer.
The Open Innovation workshop in Guangzhou, hosted in partnership with biopharmaceutical firm AstraZeneca, ran from Monday until yesterday.
Paul Thorning, director of Open Innovation at the university, said: “We believe this is an unparalleled opportunity to create meaningful links and generate value through innovation with China.”
To date the Bradford team has links with more than 50 Chinese institutions and has secured more than £15 million of funding in China and the UK.
