Jade Watson’s former boyfriend, who is accused of her murder, has been sent to crown court for trial.
James Gray, 25, of Wood Lane, yesterday made a two-minute appearance at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court.
The court heard that fresh-faced and clean-shaven Gray was charged with murdering Miss Watson on November 5. She was found strangled in a caravan at her home in Swain House.
Gray, who has short dark hair and was wearing a blue polo neck top and blue trousers, spoke only to confirm his name, address and date of birth.
Gray’s solicitor, Nigel Jamieson, said Monday would be the most appropriate day for the case to be sent to the crown court and it just remained for the defendant to be remanded in custody.
Prosecutor Paul Ramsey agreed with the request. He said custody time limits expired on May 8 next year.
Chairman of the Bench, Carol Cluer, told Gray he would be remanded in custody to appear at Bradford Crown Court on Monday.
