The film of The Railway Children, shot on and around the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway in the summer of 1970, is being screened at Bradford Cathedral next Friday, starting at 7.30pm.
Based on E Nesbit’s novel and directed by Lionel Jeffries, the film stars Dinah Sheridan, Jenny Agutter, Iain Cuthbertson, Sally Thomsett, and Bernard Cribbins.
In conversation with… follows the evening’s performance, with the president of the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway Preservation Society, film extra and former Labour MP for Keighley Ann Cryer, whose late husband Bob played a key part in the production 43 years ago.
Doors open at 6.30pm for refreshments. Tickets cost £5 from the Cathedral office.
