Youngsters at Parkwood Primary School in Keighley found the right ingredient for baking success on Tuesday.
Year Six pupils were visited by master baker Mike Armstrong, a regular contributor to Telegraph & Argus’s sister title the Keighley News.
They baked items related to a Halloween and Bonfire Night theme, including parkin, gingerbread and pumpkin bread.
Richard Ireland, a Year Six teacher and the key stage two assistant head, said: “It was Mike’s second time visiting year six, and the children were completely hooked by his passion and enthusiasm for baking.
“His infinite knowledge of his profession makes him a real inspiration, and he is a natural when it comes to working with children.”
He said the session was a perfect avenue into design technology work, and had given “real meaning” to maths and literacy.
