Yorkshire-based Indian performing arts company Manasamitra is bringing its latest show to Bradford’s Delius Arts Centre tonight.
Shivoham or Luminosity is a new light and sound installation, directed by Manasamitra CEO and artistic director Supriya Nagarajan, with live Carnatic singing, Indian inspired violin and contemporary music.
The programme is underscored by an original soundtrack composed by Shri Sriram, and features Supriya Nagarajan on vocals, Jesse Bannister on saxophone and Kartik Raghunathan on violin.
Nagarajan has performed around the world, in India, Thailand, Cambodia and cities across Europe and the UK. He said:”Manasamitra aims to bring traditional Indian culture to new audiences through contemporary collaborations.
“We have specifically chosen the Delius Arts and Culture Centre in Bradford to premiere our new show as we hope it will evoke a sense of spiritual connection and contemplation, and open up the joy of Indian performing arts to new audiences in the region.
Luminosity will be performed from 7.30pm. Tickets 10/£8 available online at shivoham.eventbrite.com or by calling (01274) 256919.
