Vehicles have been “swerving” to avoid a lorry’s wheel arch that was blocking two lanes of the M62 near Bradford this morning.
Police said the wheel arch came off the lorry between junctions 26 (Chain Bar) and 27 (Gildersome) at about 7.30am.
A police spokesman said no vehicles were reported to have hit the debris, which was cleared by 7.41am. He added: “The wheel arch of a lorry was obstructing two lanes of the motorway close to junction 27.
“Vehicles have been swerving round it.”
The Highways Agency said that one lane out of four was still closed at 8am while the incident was cleared. Traffic was queuing as a result of the lane closure.
