Police searching for a missing young mother from Bradford today spoke to visitors at the park where she was last seen a fortnight ago.
Officers stopped passers-by in Roberts Park, Saltaire, to ask if they had any information about Seemerjeet Kaur, 35.
The mother of a three-year-old girl was last seen at the park on Wednesday, October 23.
Residents were shown a photograph of Mrs Kaur to jog their memories and asked to fill out questionnaires to establish whether they might have seen her two weeks ago.
Concern has been growing for Mrs Kaur, who had been taking medication for depression, since she failed to pick up her daughter from nursery school.
Her husband, Baljeet, raised the alarm when the school contacted him to ask where his wife was.
Officers are particularly concerned because she was suffering from anxiety and depression and may wrongfully have had concerns about her health.
Mrs Kaur, of East Bowling, took a taxi from her home at about 10am on Wednesday, October 23, and was dropped off in the Salts Mill area of Saltaire about half an hour later.
CCTV camera footage showed she spent around three hours in the park, which she is understood to have regularly visited as a child.
The last sighting of her was on the canal towpath.
Police search teams have been focusing their search operation on the River Aire and the Leeds-Liverpool Canal, as well as woods and the park itself.
Occupiers of around 200 houses in the area have also been visited so gardens and outhouses could be checked.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman yesterday confirmed around 15 miles of the river and canal had been searched by underwater teams so far, heading towards Leeds.
Their searches are continuing and members of West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Services are expected to join them today.
“Neighbourhood policing team officers have been in the park showing people photographs and asking them to fill out a questionnaire to find out if they saw her two weeks ago,” he added.
Meanwhile, a page called Help Find Seemerjeet Kaur has been set up on social-networking website Facebook.
One member of the group, Meneza Hussain, wrote: “I pray she’s safely found as I knew her too. She is a wonderful person, inside and out.
“My heart goes out to all her family and friends, especially her daughter who’s missing her mum.”
Another, Salma Akram, added: “I hope she is OK and safe.”
Mrs Kaur is Asian, about 5ft 4ins tall, of slim build, with straight black shoulder-length hair, which she usually wears down. She was wearing a beige coat, blue jeans and metallic brown ankle boots.
Anyone with information should contact police on 101.
