A pedestrian was tonight described as being in a critical condition in hospital after he suffered severe head injuries in a road accident in Bradford.
The man, who is in his 50s, was taken to Leeds General Infirmary after the crash in Manningham Lane, which involved a silver Volkswagen Polo.
A West Yorkshire police spokesman said the car was being driven towards Keighley Road when the accident took place at the junction with Oak Lane at 5.30pm yesterday.
Witnesses should call the Western Area Roads Policing Unit on 101.
