A young mother, found murdered at her Bradford home, was formally identified today as police continued a manhunt for her husband.
Ridda Zanab, 21, was found dead from head injuries in an upstairs bedroom at her home in Alford terrace, Lidget Green, Bradford, in the early hours of Monday.
Detectives are trying to trace her 21-year-old husband, Danish Irfan, who has not been seen since Sunday. The couple only married last November. They have a two-month-old daughter.
Police have not revealed whether the baby was in the house at the time of Ridda’s death, but say she is safe and well and being cared for by relatives.
Detective Superintendent Mark Ridley, of the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, who is leading the investigation, said the main focus of the inquiry was to speak to Irfan.
He said: “We reiterate our appeal for anyone who knows his whereabouts, has seen him since Sunday, or has spoken to him, to contact us. We advise people not to approach him directly.”
Anyone with information should call police on 101, or 999 in an emergency, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
