The son of alleged murder victim Barry Selby appeared in court today on charges of threats to kill and criminal damage.
Liam Selby, 23, appeared from custody at Bradford Crown Court for a preliminary hearing.
He is facing two charges – threatening to kill Kelly Calvert and Natasha Wall, on October 17, at the junction of Broadstone Way and Kesteven Road, Holme Wood, Bradford, and causing £250 damage to the window of a Renault Clio, belonging to Natasha Wall, on the same date.
Prosecutor John Harrison told the court there was no application for the indictment to be put to the defendant.
A plea and case management hearing was fixed for January 15 and a trial date for March 31.
Selby, of Rayleigh Street, East Bowling was flanked in the dock by two security officers.
His father, Barry Selby, 50, died in hospital after an incident at his home in Rayleigh Street in the early hours of October 14. He suffered 50 per cent acid burns to his body and a gunshot wound to his leg.
Lee Calvert, 22, of Stirling Crescent, Holme Wood, has appeared in court charged with murder. Two other men have been charged with firearms offences in connection with a linked shooting incident.
Liam Selby’s solicitor advocate, Philip Ainge, said: “He is very anxious to be released [from custody]. His father still has not been released for burial.”
Judge Burn said Selby would remain in custody until such time as any successful bail application was made.
