Firefighters had to deal with groups of youths throwing fireworks while trying to put out a spate of car fires in the Manningham area of Bradford last night.
As well as responding to numerous bonfire-related calls, crews from Fairweather Green and Bradford stations reported three incidents suspected to be deliberate.
The first took place on Bertram Road at about 8.30pm, when a red Audi on the back of a car transporter was set alight.
Crews then attended St Mary’s Road at 9.15pm to deal with a van that was on fire, but their progress was hampered by youths throwing fireworks at them.
The final incident took place at 10.25pm, when a Vauxhall Insignia was set alight on the forecourt of Marlborough Garage in Carlisle Road.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Fire Service said it had been a busy Bonfire Night, with more than 200 calls received between 4pm and 10pm.
