Metro’s Go:cycling team is inviting funding bids from community, voluntary and not-for-profit groups for projects that promote adult cycling in West Yorkshire.
Bids up to £10,000 can be made from the £25,000 Go:cycling grant fund until Friday. November 29. Projects should aim to encourage people to use cycling in their day-to-day lives, enable people to take up cycling or to cycle more, promote cycling to work and increase the use of the cycle infrastructure across the county. Metro chairman Councillor James Lewis said: “With the Tour de France coming to Yorkshire next summer, this is an ideal time to provide kick-start funding to cycling projects.
“The range of potential projects is huge, and I'm sure the successful schemes will help increase cycling activities, whether getting to work or getting out into the countryside.”
Information and an application form can be downloaded from the Go:cycling web site at www.wygocycling.com.
