An appeal has been lodged against Bradford Council’s refusal of plans for a new house at Silsden.

Applicant, Paul Anderson, was seeking permission for a detached property on land adjacent to 9 East Dene.

But the council rejected the proposal, claiming the house would be poorly located in relation to existing properties, and affect the light and outlook for the occupant of 9 East Dene.

Planners also felt an unadopted private drive, which would provide access to the home, would be unable to safely cope with further use.

A statement to the council, outlining the grounds for appeal, says the latest application was the fourth submitted for similar schemes at the site since 2008.

“Each of these applications has been refused for similar reasons, and each refusal has been followed by alterations to the scheme to address the issues raised by the council,” it says.

The appeal is being dealt with on the basis of written representations. Visit the planning section at bradford.gov.uk and search under the application number 13/00823/FUL for further details.
