Members of staff and local GPs from NHS Leeds West Clinical Commissioning Group, which includes practices in Horsforth, Rawdon, Menston, Guiseley and Yeadon, are joining the Movember cause to raise awareness of male cancers throughout November.
The ‘Leeds West CCG Mo Bros’ will be joining thousands of men across the UK in growing moustaches during November.
Twenty-five men have signed up to the team, promising handlebar, pencil or even Fu Manchu moustaches, all in the name of charity.
Movember raises awareness of all male cancers, but particularly focuses on prostate cancer. More than 40,000 men are diagnosed each year in the UK and the symptoms are not always obvious at first.
Clinical chairman, Dr Gordon Sinclair, who is part of the team said: “Raising awareness of male cancers is really important as we know that early diagnosis improves successful outcomes.”
