Up to 250 women and children enjoyed an open day hosted by a community group which aims to combat social isolation.
The Zaika Group is funded and supported by Mike Robinson, of Associated Waste Management in Valley Road, Bradford, who is delighted it is proving such a success.
“Between 200 and 250 women and children enjoyed the event, giving them chance to meet new people and learn new skills.
“The children played on the bouncy castle and had a football tournament and everyone enjoyed a plentiful supply of food cooked,” he said.
Each week the group meets at Frizinghall Community Centre.
It has proved so successful that a second group is being considered.
