The creators of a classroom dedicated to a speedway legend are on the lookout for memorabilia to decorate it with.
The Erik Gundersen Room is set to be unveiled at the Bradford-based Joshua Project charity in December in honour of the three-time world champion.
Former Danish number one Mr Gundersen retained his world title at Odsal in the 1985 world final, but four years later – on September 17, 1989 – he almost died in an horrific four-rider crash during heat one of the World Team Cup final at the same stadium.
Speedway fan John Murphy said memorabilia such as the 1985 Odsal World Final programme, or the 1989 World Team Cup final one, would be ideal.
“We'd even be happy to borrow these to scan the front covers if they don't wish to part with them,” he said.
