Two predatory paedophiles have been jailed for sexually abusing a “vulnerable and confused” boy in the Bradford district.
The pair are the latest in a string of perverts locked up for grooming and exploiting the teenager, who is now severely emotionally damaged and receiving psychiatric help.
Both the abusers were later found to have a stash of child pornography at their homes and Judge Jonathan Rose said the “vile” images inspired “men like you” to progress to sexually abusing boys and girls.
The defendants were dealt with in separate sentencing hearings at Bradford Crown Court yesterday.
Thomas Pinchin, 35, who travelled from London for “demeaning, degraded and perverted” sex with the 13-year-old boy in a toilet for disabled people, was jailed for two years and eight months.
Pinchin, of Weir Road, Balham, pleaded guilty to grooming the boy, sexual activity with him and 21 child pornography offences.
Prosecutor Matthew Bean said Pinchin and the boy chatted online in early 2011 and discussed having sex.
Pinchin travelled to Leeds and he and the teenager watched a Harry Potter movie before sexual activity took place between them in the cinema toilet.
When Pinchin was arrested, the police found more than 18,000 child porn images on his computer and 775 illegal movies featuring boys as young as four. Some of the material was at level five, the most serious on the scale.
Pinchin’s barrister, Katherine Blackwell, said he was ashamed his “deepest, darkest secret” had been uncovered.
He had lost his good character and his life was changed forever.
Judge Rose said the “gross and perverted” pornography would horrify the public. It featured acts of torture and sadism against children.
Pinchin’s victim was vulnerable and confused. He had already been abused after looking for men on the internet to have sex with.
“He was a deeply troubled child who would not have been resistant to what you were looking for,” Judge Rose said.
Lorry driver David Portlock, 32, was jailed for 20 months for inciting the boy to engage in sexual activity, meeting him after grooming and 19 offences of making an indecent photo of a child.
Portlock, of Elmfield Road, Hebburn, Tyne and Wear, began talking to the 13-year-old boy on the internet in late 2010.
They exchanged indecent images of their bodies and met up in early 2011. They went for a walk in the Bradford area but nothing sexual took place. Portlock was in possession of 485 indecent images of boys aged from six to 16.
His barrister, Graeme Cook, said he was of previous good character and never actually touched the boy.
Judge Rose said Portlock manipulated the teenager after earning his trust.
“His childhood has been destroyed,” the judge said.
