Bradford’s new international film festival started yesterday at a reception attended by Bollywood star Samina Peerzada.
Called Beyond the Mango, the festival is aided by £10,000 from Bradford Council and features a series of screenings and interviews running until Saturday.
Films include Bollywood blockbuster Krrish 3 and I Went Shopping For Robert De Niro.
Other events include Bollywood director Mahesh Bhatt and actress Samina Peerzada talking to festival co-director Irfan Ajeeb on stage at the Pictureville cinema.
Festival co-director Bill Lawrence said: “It’s about communities working together, seeing the best in other cultures. On Wednesday at Cineworld we’re showing a documentary about the Alabama recording studios Muscle Shoals.”
