Developers behind a new housing estate have vowed to be more considerate, but residents remain unconvinced.
Cars parked along Belgrave Street and Gladstone Street, Skipton, have apparently been damaged by contractors vehicles delivering to the Lovell housing development – Lambert Hills, on Granville Street.
And residents claim alternative parking for residents is no longer available.
Liz Lempen, of Belgrave Street, said parking during the day for residents had become almost impossible.
“You can come back home during the day and just go round in circles, all the contractors workers are parked in the roads,” she said.
Lovell has told contractors to reach the site via Brook Street and has positioned people on Gargrave Road to direct traffic, but Mrs Lempen claims some continue to use alternative routes.
Another resident of Belgrave Street, who asked not to be named, had a car badly damaged when it was hit by a sub-contractor’s vehicle.
Lovell regional director, Tony Tann, apologised for damage caused and offered to help.
“We are very sorry that this incident involving a supplier’s lorry making a delivery to one of our subcontractors happened. Our site manager spoke to the two car owners affected immediately afterwards, apologised and offered to deal with the incident on their behalf to arrange repairs.
The 57-home, £10 million Lambert Hills development is due to be completed in a year’s time in the autumn, 2015.
