All Saint’s Church in Bingley underwent a ghastly gothic horror transformation yesterday for a spooky alternative to Halloween parties.
Based on the Christian teaching that all things dark and ugly can be overcome, Bumps that go Light in the Night invited local children to the dimly-lit Anglo-Saxon church in Main Street.
It had been hung with giant cobwebs and eerie decorations.
There was plenty of fun and games with dangling doughnuts, bobbing apples plus arts and crafts.
And while being a truly spine-tingling affair, any shocks or horrors were offset by a positive Christian theme, said vicar of All Saints, the Rev Beverley Mason.
